Hey folks,

Our setup is as follows:

3 Workstations, 2 (studio 2 and 3) running v3.5.12, and 1 (studio 1) running v3.5.9.

If i go to smooth edit, and click open in external editor in .12, then every single time, on BOTH workstations I get the following errors:

On .9, it works perfectly.

Just thought i'd better report it! We're using Audition 3.

Hi Brett,

We changed the way it reads information back from the wav file after external editing with v3.5.12 so it might be something there.

Does that message box appear shortly after you click to edit externally (obviously you may have to alt-tab back to see it behind audition) or only after audition exits?

It happens straight after I press to edit, I can edit in audition normally and save it, and then re open smooth edit and my changes will be shown, but it doesn't work the way it should.

Hi Brett,

Can you look at the name of the .exe that you have set to be your external editor, then after you have clicked to edit a cart externally check in the Windows Task List to see if that EXE is still running?

I suspect that it's launching a second exe then exiting so Myriad is seeing that as the cart has finished being edited and the editor closed and therefore tries to read the information back in from it.

This is by design (as we have no other way of watching to see if the external editor has finished) so we can then make sure that Myriad 'knows' about the edit changes.

Can you let me know what you find?

Thanks,
